At the beginning of my academic and professional life, I did not picture myself in this position. Growing up, I was interested in becoming a journalist and reporting on important events. I wanted to travel the world and be an advocate for people and causes that have been overlooked. However, as I progressed through college and started to gain experience in the media industry, I began to realize that the job of a journalist was not the best fit for me. I was more interested in the behind-the-scenes aspects of the job, such as research, writing, and editing. I decided to pursue a career in communications and public relations, which I believed would provide me with the opportunity to make a difference in the world through storytelling. I was drawn to the idea of being able to create meaningful and impactful stories that can help shape the way people think and speak about a certain issue or cause. Additionally, I was intrigued by the idea of working behind the scenes and influencing people in a subtle yet powerful way. Since then, I have been able to use my communications and public relations skills to help organizations and companies tell their stories in an effective and engaging way.
