At the beginning of your academic or professional life, did you picture yourself in this position? If not, what kind of job did you think you'd be doing and what made you change your mind?

At the beginning of my academic and professional life, I did not picture myself in this position. Growing up, I was interested in becoming a journalist and reporting on important events. I wanted to travel the world and be an advocate for people and causes that have been overlooked. However, as I progressed through college and started to gain experience in the media industry, I began to realize that the job of a journalist was not the best fit for me. I was more interested in the behind-the-scenes aspects of the job, such as research, writing, and editing. I decided to pursue a career in communications and public relations, which I believed would provide me with the opportunity to make a difference in the world through storytelling. I was drawn to the idea of being able to create meaningful and impactful stories that can help shape the way people think and speak about a certain issue or cause. Additionally, I was intrigued by the idea of working behind the scenes and influencing people in a subtle yet powerful way. Since then, I have been able to use my communications and public relations skills to help organizations and companies tell their stories in an effective and engaging way. I have also been able to take on a more strategic role in developing communications plans and strategies for
